Dede Christopher has over 26 years of experience in the field of Architectural Illustration, using her degrees in Architecture to inform her renderings and give them solid principles of good design. Her firm, Christopher Illustration, works specifically with clients to design and illustrate places which promote concepts that create and sustain healthy, dynamic communities. Dede received her bachelor’s in Architecture from Clemson University in 1984, and earned a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Tennessee, where she focused primarily on urban design and sustainable architecture. After working as a designer and draftsman in several prominent architectural firms, she trained as an architectural illustrator in the office of Dan Harmon and Associates in Atlanta, Georgia, for five years. In 1989 she established her firm, Christopher Illustration. Dede has built a strong company that continues to strive for excellence in all areas of design, presentation and artistic expression. She also often serves as a consultant for design charrettes throughout the country as an illustrator and designer, as well as a rendering instructor to many local learning institutions. Dede serves on several architectural Design Review Boards in Maryville, Tennessee, and is a member of the Congress of New Urbanism.
John Miller has worked with Dede since she began Christopher Illustration in 1989. Until recently his focus has been running the day to day business side of the company but with the rising importance of the internet and computer generated illustrations, he has become extremely skilled in the creation of complex SketchUp models and perspectives. He is also in charge of creating and maintaining our website. John and Dede have been married 23 years and have 2 sons, Chris and Matt, who are currently attending the University of Tennessee Knoxville.
